Please sign up for our tryouts at this link – https://sunrise.demosphere-secure.com/_registration. Choose Sunrise Soccer Club – UWS Tryouts. Tryouts will me on May 1 at Nob Hill Park from 9 am to 11 am, 10200 Sunset Strip, Sunrise, Fl 33322.
We are joining the United Women’s Soccer League (UWS) for the 2021 season. The UWS is a summer league for college players and recently graduated college players. The purpose of the UWS is to provide high-level training for current college players and those that recently graduated. We have designed the season based on feedback from our alumni and prospective players. The team will play 7-8 matches. We will go out of town two times, visiting opponents in the Orlando and Jacksonville areas. We will cover the cost of meals and the hotel for those trips. All of the other matches will be at our home field (Nob Hill) in Sunrise or in the South Florida area. The home games will be fun, community-type events. We will provide the uniforms for the players.
Practices will be three days per week, usually in the morning at 9 am.
Tryouts will be on May 1 and we will begin practice the following week. The season should conclude by mid-July.
The only cost to join the team is $75. And that fee is only for players that make the team. In other words, there is no try-out fee. We anticipate having 20-25 players on the roster.
The team will be coached by Gui Gui Ferreira. Gui Gui has extensive experience and is one of only a handful of coaches that has won two US Youth Soccer National Championships and won a National title with the Houston Aces UWS team, where he was named Coach of the Year by the league.
The entire purpose of the UWS is to get our players ready for their return to college as well as those looking to play at the professional level. Sunrise has a long tradition of placing players in college and this will be an opportunity for many of our alumni to return and play here as well as other top South Florida athletes.
