The Sunrise 96/97 girls team opened up National League competition this weekend. The league features two divisions of eight teams, composed of some of the very best teams in the country. The girls finished 1-1-1 and improved as the weekend progressed. In the first match, Matchfit (NJ) defeated the Sting 2-1, then the team tied Farmingdale (NY) 0-0, and in the final game, the girls defeated Cleveland 2-0.
